Parent & Toddler groups are a great way to meet new people, break isolation, share experiences and provide an environment for babies and young children to socialise, learn and play together .
The groups normally meet in the morning for an hour or so and there are more than 30 Parent and Toddler groups around Waterford city and county. For a list of the P&T groups in Waterford please contact WCC on 051 295045.
Waterford Childcare Committee is available to support anyone wishing to set up a Parent and Toddler group as well as those currently running one. We have complied an Information Pack, which we hope will provide all the information & resources that a P&T group will need to run an effective group.
We can also assist parents in choosing toys and activities which are developmentally appropriate for the children attending and which will encourage good adult & child interactions
We can also promote quality experiences for both children and adults by facilitating Aistear workshops for Parents or workshops on physical activity, healthy eating, art & craft activities, baby massage etc in your venue as well as opportunities for other Parent & Toddler groups to meet and share information etc.
We may also be able to put you in contact with other relevant agencies or organisations which might be beneficial to your group. Every year we administer a small grant scheme for P&T groups. Please note that funding has already been allocated for 2016 to 22 P&T groups around Waterford City & County
For support with running a Parent & Toddler Groups please call Rosemarie Cusack on 051 295045
