A new regulatory requirement for Early Years services will come into force from June 1st 2020.  From this date Tusla Early Years Inspectorate will require services to meet the regulatory requirement for Regulation 25.

Regulation 25 states that there must be a person(s) who has undertaken the FAR (First Aid Response) by a trainer approved by the Pre- Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) immediately available to children attending the service.

To support the Early Years sector meet this requirement, the DCYA has provided funding for services to claim back the cost of one staff member attending this training.

The funding for the training will be administered to the services by the local County Childcare Committees.
